My story begins at the age of five, when I woke up one morning feeling like a girl and could not understand why. Years later, in high school, I met three transgender people whose happiness inspired me, and I eventually followed in their footsteps. I lived as a transgender woman for nine years and spent seven of those years on hormones. Through that journey, God met me in the middle of my confusion and spoke to me out loud: “My child. I will redeem you. I will make you the man you were meant to be.” In that moment, His presence burned away the desire I had to become a woman, and I began the journey of detransition. What I once believed would give me peace ultimately left me searching for something deeper, and I found that peace in Jesus Christ. My testimony is now a reminder that no matter how far we wander, God is able to meet us there and lead us home.
After sharing my testimony, I began to recognize that God was calling me not simply to tell my story, but to minister to others who are walking through similar struggles. That calling became Back to Ben Ministries, a ministry focused on reaching transgender people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and coming alongside those who are questioning their identity, transitioning, or detransitioning. Whether I am speaking with someone at a Pride festival, sitting with someone who is considering detransition, sharing my testimony, or simply having a conversation about Jesus, my desire is to point people toward the truth, grace, and hope found in Him. I am now pursuing this calling through full-time ministry and writing.
